(Not the Trade Center, but seems appropriate)
Everybody PRAY!
You don't need
to be religious and you don't
need to live on
the Gulf Coast to pray.
You may or may not remember all the hurricanes of 2004 & 2005, but we had way too many. As everyone knows, Katrina tops them all. If you've never lived through a hurricane, you can't begin to imagine the immediate and long-term suffering of victims. Yes, you are aware of it now, but when the news casts end, if you're not affected, you will forget, BUT it will be many years before the victims recover financially, physically, and worse yet, emotionally.
EVERYONE needs to pray for the recovery of the victims, for their lives, for their every day needs, for their total recovery, not just today, but every day for years to come as it will take years to recover.
Victims need to turn
control of their lives over to God. First, ask God to forgive you
for your sins and then ask him to take total control of your life.
You don't need to attend a church, you just need to put your life in God's
hands and trust him to take care of you.
As stated previously, you don't need to be religious and you don't need to live on the Gulf Coast. If you don't live on the Gulf Coast, hurricanes indirectly also affect you with higher prices, shortages, etc. Then, too, you may have family and/or friends that live on the Gulf Coast.
A Sample Prayer:
Lord, you are all powerful and you can do anything. You control even the weather. I beg of you, have mercy on the USA and keep hurricanes away from us --give us a chance to recover and help us recover from the ones we've already had. You know how to do it, I surely don't. We ask that you keep them away from us and protect us from their destruction. Have mercy on the USA Lord and keep hurricanes and other disasters away from us. Amen.I'm not a preacher. I'm just a survivor of Betsy (on the west bank of New Orleans) and Charley (Punta Gorda, FL). After 2004 & 2005 Florida hurricanes, I began praying for God to keep hurricanes away from us, but I surely did not expect Katrina. Now, I'm praying for God to keep hurricanes away from ALL of the USA. My house is back together, but my emotions have not recovered from hurricanes.
You scoff and say you can't pray hurricanes away. I believe otherwise. Look at all the things God did in Exodus, plagues, opening the sea, water from a rock, manna from heaven, etc. The references to rain are too numerous to list them all. Remember the 40 days of rain during Noah's time in Genesis. Deut. 11:16-17 - don't turn from God or there will be no rain. I Kings 17:1 - Elijah told the king there won't be any dew or rain for several years until I say the word. In James 17:17, it says Elijah was human as we are and when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for 3 1/2 years. Then he prayed again that it would rain and down it poured.
Thank you for your
prayers and God bless you.
